Selected Currency Charts

Swedish Krona/US Dollar






As can be seen the dollar is now off its mid 2001 peak of 11.0705 with the Swedish Krona to a very significant extent. At the start of August 2007 the rate was about 6.6885 Krona per dollar, which means that the dollar has lost something like 40% of its value vis-a-vis the Krona over this time.

In 2004 the value had a local peak in the 7.700 range.


Euro-Dollar





As can be seen the dollar is now off its peak of 1.1786 euros in mid 2001 to a very significant extent. At the start of August 2007 the rate was about 0.7260, which means that the dollar has experienced something like a 40% (38.39%) drop in its value vis-a-vis the Euro in about 6 years.

British Pound



As can be seen the dollar is now off its peak of 0.6317 dollars to the pound in mid 2001 to a very significant extent. At the start of August 2007 the rate was about 0.48003, which means that the dollar has lost something like 24 % (0.23998%) of its value vis-a-vis the British pound over about 6 years.



The Japanese yen presents a very different picture from the other main currencies. As can be seen the dollar also peaked agains the yen in 2001, and it is now off that peak of 133.86 to a significant extent, but not to the same extent as can be found with other currencies. At the start of 2005 the dollar bottomed against the yen at a rate of about 102.36, and since this time it has risen again (largely because the yen has been falling relative to all the main currencies in recent months) to a current rate of 123.21. What this means is that the dollar has lost something like 8% (7.956%) of its value against the yen over about 6 years.


The Swiss Franc



As can be seen the dollar is now off its peak of 1.7931 with the Swiss Franc in mid 2001 to a very significant extent. At the start of August 2007 the rate was about 1.1906, which means that the dollar has lost something like 34% (33.60%) of its value vis-a-vis the Swiss Franc over this time.
